Choosy Moms Choose…

Do you remember that tv commercial? Choosy moms choose Jiff? The message there in that simple sentence is discerning moms pick only the best for their families. Which got me thinking. Companies should be just as choosy when selecting a brand management company. In other words, cut the excess salt and sugar and get right to the goods.

Picking the right brand management company isn’t rocket science, but there are a few things to look out for. A big one is don’t select a company that advertises custom logos in 2 hours. Your brand deserves more. When you’re starting your own business look for a full service branding company. One that can create your brand identity (and no, not overnight) and be great at other things you will need, such as a website, advertising, and social media management.

A big red flag is never trust a company that doesn’t return your calls or email. This goes without saying, but if they can’t communicate with you, they don’t deserve your business.

Transparency is a word that gets thrown around a lot, but it’s an important word especially when your image is on the line. A brand management company should be your partner and understand the ins and outs of your business so they can create great things that are unique to you. They should be able to give you prices and explain the work that needs to be done. Remember, you aren’t hiring a landscaper, you’re hiring someone to put your business on the map.

Finally, to be the ultimate choosy consumer, do a little homework. Find out who has been around awhile, ask for references, and ultimately go with your gut. Branding takes serious effort and can make or break your business. Spend the time and decide what is right for you. It’ll pay off in the long run.
